Land of Enchantment

Linda and pals just spent 5 days in Abiquiu, New Mexico in the high desert. Artist friends from the Louisville Art Association hosted us and shared the history and painting locations and hiking trails. The geology and culture and history are even richer than one expects from the exquisite paintings of Georgia O’Keeffe, who made the area hers. Other artists, photographers, and friends from Louisville joined in the painting and hiking and history adventures. Read more on Linda's Art Blog.

Linda returned to the richness of her summer yard and garden and a visit from a special friend who bought this painting from a series of 5x5 inch messengers unrelated to the trip.

Opening Reception was a Great Night

Linda Armantrout’s Opening Reception at CFA Gallery in the Louisville Arts District was super exciting. New friends and old friends gathered to see Armantrout’s recent body of work, The Spirit Messengers. The exhibit includes paintings and drawings completed during the last two years. Janet Russell did an incredible job of hanging this recent work to support the artist's content.

The Spirit Messenger Series began with an affirmation by ally, Jimmy Sellars, of the painting, Reconnection to Spirit. Some of the pieces were shown in the exhibit 9 Colorado Artists in Salida, CO at Sellars Project Space in June, 2016. Sellars Project Space exhibited more of the paintingsand drawings as Reconnection to Spirit in August and September, 2016.

Now, through January 19, 2018, you can see the Spirit Messenger Exhibit at CFA Gallery, 916 Main Street, Louisville, Colorado. Gallery hours are M-F 10:00am-6pm and Saturday 10:00am-5pm. First Friday hours will be 5pm-7pm when the Louisville Parade of Lights begins. Then artists and Gallery resume the party after the Parade to warm up until 9pm.

New Work to debut at CFA Gallery November 3

"Reconnection to Spirit"Linda Armantrout will offer recent work from her Spirit Messenger Series in November, December, and January. You are invited to the Opening Reception on November 3, 2017 at CFA Gallery, 916 Main Street, Louisville, Colorado. The reception will be fun with old and new friends and the music of MaryLynn Gillaspie (Rare Silk), hors d'oeuvres, and wine.

If you saw "Reconnection to Spirit" in Salida, Colorado in August of 2016, you saw some of this work as the series broke through. All of the recent work to be shown is new to Louisville and Denver area collectors. Linda took wet paintings to Ken Sanville today for photographs. Work doesn't get any fresher than that.

Linda showed previous work as a resident artist this summer at CFA Gallery. This fall, Linda also enjoyed a trip to Nebraska, a trip to Salida for the Chipeta Rising Celebration (see below), and began teaching her Color Theory Class with new and returning students. Lots going on in the Studio. Come see the the new paintings!
