Opening Reception was a Great Night

Linda Armantrout’s Opening Reception at CFA Gallery in the Louisville Arts District was super exciting. New friends and old friends gathered to see Armantrout’s recent body of work, The Spirit Messengers. The exhibit includes paintings and drawings completed during the last two years. Janet Russell did an incredible job of hanging this recent work to support the artist's content.

The Spirit Messenger Series began with an affirmation by ally, Jimmy Sellars, of the painting, Reconnection to Spirit. Some of the pieces were shown in the exhibit 9 Colorado Artists in Salida, CO at Sellars Project Space in June, 2016. Sellars Project Space exhibited more of the paintingsand drawings as Reconnection to Spirit in August and September, 2016.

Now, through January 19, 2018, you can see the Spirit Messenger Exhibit at CFA Gallery, 916 Main Street, Louisville, Colorado. Gallery hours are M-F 10:00am-6pm and Saturday 10:00am-5pm. First Friday hours will be 5pm-7pm when the Louisville Parade of Lights begins. Then artists and Gallery resume the party after the Parade to warm up until 9pm.

New Work to debut at CFA Gallery November 3

"Reconnection to Spirit"Linda Armantrout will offer recent work from her Spirit Messenger Series in November, December, and January. You are invited to the Opening Reception on November 3, 2017 at CFA Gallery, 916 Main Street, Louisville, Colorado. The reception will be fun with old and new friends and the music of MaryLynn Gillaspie (Rare Silk), hors d'oeuvres, and wine.

If you saw "Reconnection to Spirit" in Salida, Colorado in August of 2016, you saw some of this work as the series broke through. All of the recent work to be shown is new to Louisville and Denver area collectors. Linda took wet paintings to Ken Sanville today for photographs. Work doesn't get any fresher than that.

Linda showed previous work as a resident artist this summer at CFA Gallery. This fall, Linda also enjoyed a trip to Nebraska, a trip to Salida for the Chipeta Rising Celebration (see below), and began teaching her Color Theory Class with new and returning students. Lots going on in the Studio. Come see the the new paintings!

The Power Images at CFA Gallery

Linda Armantrout seeks to make paintings with content that connects to the viewers heart or ancestral knowledge. the artist painted a body of work, Horse Power as Spirit. The first Power Image came in a meditation. A series of twelve moving horses developed as metaphors for the Power of Spirit. Power Image No. 7- Connection to Ancestors is the basis for the two series that followed using symbolically charged animals and people as messengers of Spirit. Linda Armantrout will be showing the remaining Power Images from the Horse Power as Spirit series at Creative Framing Art Gallery, 916 Main Street, in the Louisville Arts District. See this work First Friday from 6pm-9pm and weekdays Mon-Sat 10am-6pm. Also, in November see the recent work that evolved from those 12 images. See Available Paintings here.

In other news, there is one seat available in Armantrout's Color Theory Class.  If you are ready to deepen your understanding of color relationships, this class is for you! Based on the color theory of Johannes Itten, this class will awaken your ability with color. Painting exercises with casein paint lead you to understand color contrasts and color harmonies. You will learn the difference between intensity and value. This class requires an interview and the intention of completing the 16 week program. Color Theory Students learn to mix and manage color. See more info here.

This from Black Elk—“I think I have told you, but if I have not, you must have understood, that a man who has a vision is not able to use the power of it until after he has performed the vision on earth for the people to see.“ Please, come "see".
