Happy New Year

Out of the EarthThe Big Happy Group Show No. 2 was so wonderful. The opening was a blast with curator and owner, Stephen Parise, hosting art consultants, famous artists, editors and nationally respected gallerists. Linda's gang really showed up for her. She thanks everyone who came and all who sent good wishes.  What a great Santa Fe gallery debut for Armantrout Studio.

Mediators painted for Eldorado Studio Tour, September 21 & 22

Claude Lévi-Strauss, French anthropologist, proposed a structuralist theory that suggests that Coyote and Crow obtained mythic status because they are mediator animals between life and death. Cultures, he claimed, must take into account both life and death and need to have a way of mediating between the two. Mythology unites opposites in diverse ways. Birds of Many Colors for Eldorado Studio Tour September 21 & 22

Coyote and Red Racer painted for Eldorado Studio Tour September 21 & 22, 2024

Coyote and Red Racer appear in a Native American myth that I have not learned yet. In Richard Rohr's "Really Real", he says we live in a threshold space between this world and the next with one foot in both, holding each of them precious together. The duality of myth seems to relate the oppositions. The Kingdom is now and not yet, but it breaks through once in a while. I see a transition about to happen but whose? What do you see?
