Peace of the Earth

Peace of the Earth, 22x30 inches, oil on paper. The Bison energy came roaring into Armantrout Studio as a Spiritual blessing last Spring. The White Buffalo Calf Woman Legend shows up in many tribes, but is strongest in the Lakota oral history. It parallels Christian beliefs about the Prince of Peace, and the second coming. Some believe that if 4 pure white buffalo are born and survive at the same time there will be peace on earth. The peace pipe is associated with this legend. Linda painted it as a symbol for the hope for global peace. The word Buffalo means "Of the Earth" so the title refers to that. White Buffalo are not albino but are blue eyed. Linda painted a series of bison and some connect to the rock and cave art paintings.

Moving Forward

The Studio is reset and ready for action after a wonderful Show and Sale. Please scroll and read below for appreciations from Linda for the great turn out and good cheer. We did raise some money for flood relief here in Colorado. Damage here is still bad, but being repaired. Scroll down further to see Rough God Comes Riding, Linda's donation to Colorado Flood Relief. We will keep the offer in place until December 31, 2013.

Our good friend, Janet Russell at Creative Framing Art Gallery, is originally from the Philippines and has many friends and family there.  Armantrout Studio will be offering a similar donation of proceeds from the sale of Giclee Prints from the Power Image Series to help victims of Typhoon Haiyan. Please visit Armantrout Studio Page on Facebook, click icon left, where Linda will change the image offered bi-weekly, or stop by Creative Framing Art Gallery, 916 Main Street, Louisville to donate.

Rough God Comes Riding

"Rough God Comes Riding" was painted as a response to Katrina. The original was sold in 2008. A full size Giclee 1/25 Limited Edition was sold in 2012. It seems appropriate to post this piece during our ongoing flooding. We are still in rescue mode in Colorado, and we are looking forward to the rain stopping so we can rebuild our communities. I will post this until we can start the restoration. If you order a Giclee while this is posted, I will contribute 50% of the proceeds to the rebuild. Thanks for the prayers and help we are getting during the rescue. Offer ends December 31, 2013.
