Big Happy Gallery Exhibition through January 17, 2026

Linda Armantrout’s luminous paintings explore connection, color, and animal presence—images that feel both tender and otherworldly.

"Messengers of Change""Hovering between light and shadow, “Messengers of Change” evokes a quiet, watchful presence—part guardian, part omen. Armantrout’s use of deep indigos and luminous whites turns the figure into a threshold being, carrying news from one state to another. As in much of her work, animals become conduits for connection, intuition, and transformation, asking us to pause and listen for what is shifting beneath the surface." Stephen Parise

"Ascension’ by Linda Armantrout — a dreamlike convergence of animal guardians moving through light and shadow. Armantrout’s luminous palette and flowing lines evoke the quiet pulse of connection between seen and unseen worlds. This painting feels like a breath held between realms, where instinct, spirit, and transformation rise together.-Stephen Parise

Linda Armantrout Exhibition at Big Happy Gallery

Waiting to be seenLinda Armantrout: …will we know what they are saying?

On view: December 5, 2025–January 17, 2026
Opening reception: Friday, December 5, 5:00-7:00 pm

Location: 1300 Luisa Street, #3A, Santa Fe, New Mexico

"In her exhibition, …will we know what they are saying?,
Linda Armantrout continues her exploration of the interconnection between the spiritual and natural worlds. Each painting serves as a contemplative act—a visual prayer—guided by meditation and intuition. Her engagement with animal imagery reflects a deepening awareness of kinship across species. By privileging emotional resonance over intellectual control, Armantrout allows the unexpected to shape meaning as it emerges through the act of painting."—Stephen Parise

The title of the exhibition comes from the Gary Lawless poem, When The Animals Come To Us.
