New Painting Available

"I looked and I saw a white horse…" was recently finished by Linda Armantrout, and then professionally photographed by Ken Sanville who is a fine arts photographer in Louisville, Colorado. Ken graciously shoots images for local artists. Linda is so grateful to have full size images available of all her work. Most importantly for Linda, a painter who is a colorist, Ken nails the color.  This makes it possible to share the available paintings on the internet for sale. It also makes it possible to offer Limited Edition Prints professionally printed at Infinite Editions. This painting is a 48x36 inch oil on gallery wrapped canvas offered for $3,600.00. Purchase or ponder at Available Paintings.

Also ready to be sold is this charcoal and colored chalk drawing on 42x48 inch gray paper. It was done as a preliminary study for a painting that will be made in 2014. Linda is selling it for $380.00, unframed. This drawing is only available cash and carry from the Studio.

Pop up First Friday Fun

The weather broke and we had a mild First Friday in the Louisville Arts District, and a sunny warm Saturday for the Pop up event. Thanks to all who came by 915 Walnut. It is a beautiful space, and all four artists (see below) looked great! Thanks for good conversations and for positive reinforcement on the paintings. "I looked and I saw a white horse..." was debuted.  Also shown was "Connection to Ancestors" from the Power Image Series. It was the first painting to start me thinking about cave and rock art. "Mystery Beings" continues my exploration that expanded into Native American Legends and Southwest Rock Art studies. See more work in my Available Paintings section and see sold work and other adventures as you scroll down in Studio News.

Peace of the Earth

Peace of the Earth, 22x30 inches, oil on paper. The Bison energy came roaring into Armantrout Studio as a Spiritual blessing last Spring. The White Buffalo Calf Woman Legend shows up in many tribes, but is strongest in the Lakota oral history. It parallels Christian beliefs about the Prince of Peace, and the second coming. Some believe that if 4 pure white buffalo are born and survive at the same time there will be peace on earth. The peace pipe is associated with this legend. Linda painted it as a symbol for the hope for global peace. The word Buffalo means "Of the Earth" so the title refers to that. White Buffalo are not albino but are blue eyed. Linda painted a series of bison and some connect to the rock and cave art paintings.
