Welcome to Armantrout StudioArmantrout Studio is the working studio and gallery of artist Linda Armantrout in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The studio and gallery are open year round by appointment and always for the Eldorado Studio Tour. The 31st Annual Eldorado Studio Tour is on September 23 and 24, 2023. You are welcome anytime for a private studio visit in the gallery and studio at 4 Reno Road in beautiful Eldorado over looking the Galisteo Basin. Please call 505-660-9020.
During her career, Linda has been encouraged by curators, Sally L. Perisho, Ken Bloom, Jimmy Sellars, and Jerry Allen Gilmore. Her work was selected into group exhibits by Dianne Vanderlip and Gwen Chanzit , and she received a juror’s award from Debra Jordy.

Roaring Fork River near the Aspen Art MuseumLinda Armantrout just returned from a 5 day trip to Aspen, Colorado. The Roaring Fork River, the Ute Trail switchback, Shorts Film Festival, Aspen Art Museum, and galleries were all enriching and sure to inform Linda's process and studio practice. Thanks to Rodney Briggs of Ralph Lauren Home Collection for his continued support in placing these paintings in a stunning environment. "Power Image #7-Connections to Ancestors", Oil on Canvas, 30x40 inchesThree paintings have been put on client HOLD until March 27, "Leaving a Mark" , "I am...", and "Wind River Mustangs". "Power Image #7-Connection to Ancestors" was released from a HOLD today. Linda has begun her painting for the Alzheimer's Fundraiser for a May 1st deadline. There will be an online auction in addition to the Live Auction this year. Linda thanks Candice Pulliam for the invitation, and is looking forward to seeing old friends at the Artists Thank You party in Mid-May.

A few glorious days in Colorado allowed this painting to begin. Linda's studio practice increases in intensity. Students from out of state are wrapping up an eight week session. Plans for the 3-day workshop in Ridgway in late August continue to develop. Students continue to enjoy working with Linda Armantrout at Creative Framing Art Gallery in downtown Louisville.

This almost finished piece is from the series that began with "Power Image #7—Connection to Ancestors". The picture plane is intentionally ambiguous. Armantrout intends for the image to appear to be painted over the historic Ute rock art. The content speaks to the prestige that the Ute derived from horse ownership. The title refers to the meaning of the word Paiute..."Following the one who Knows the Way." It is part of the Connection to Ancestors Series.
